On Indigenous People’s Day 9 August 2019 the hitherto biggest repatriation in Sweden and Sápmi was carried out. The 25 skulls that were excavated at Gamplatsn in Lycksele in 1950 for race biological purposes were carried back to their original burial places.
During the Sámi week we show items and photographs from the repatriation process.
