Photo Seminar 2019
Thu 10 Oct — Fri 11 OctTHE IMAGE’S POWER
10–11 October
The Image’s Power
In this year’s photo seminar we meet photographers and artists from different parts of the world who talk about their work and their thoughts on illuminating and questioning power structures in society. All interpersonal relations are characterised by social hierarchies and power relationships of various kinds. Visual artists and documentary photographers must deal with these but also recognise the power they themselves possess.
The seminar takes place in two places: Bildmuseet and Västerbottens museum. It is a collaboration addressing how power structures are examined and portrayed in documentary photography and the visual arts.
