Rock art in Sàpmi

The Museum’s permanent exhibition entitled Rock Art in Sápmi allows you to come right up close with the millennia-old tradition of rock art. Photos, film and images give you an insight into the representational world of Stone Age man. What was it he wanted to say, and to whom? You can also compare the rock art images with symbols on Sami ceremonial drums and archaeological objects. Although there are more than 1,000 years that separate several of these images, they are strikingly alike.
